Mercedes-Benz India Aims for Double-Digit Sales Growth, Unveils Luxury Models

Mercedes-Benz India is optimistic about achieving double-digit sales growth in the current fiscal year, driven by strong demand, particularly for high-end models. Lance Bennett, the VP of Sales & Marketing at Mercedes-Benz India, expressed confidence in the company’s sales prospects, citing robust demand for their top-end vehicles (TEV).

During the first quarter of 2024, one out of every four Mercedes cars sold in India belonged to the TEV segment, indicating its significance in the company’s sales strategy. To capitalize on this demand, Mercedes-Benz India introduced two luxury models on Wednesday: the Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC SUV and the AMG S 63 E Performance Edition 1.

The Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC is priced at Rs 3.35 crore, while the AMG S 63 E Performance starts at Rs 3.3 crore. Additionally, an exclusive ‘Edition 1’ variant is available, starting at Rs 3.8 crore (all prices ex-showroom).

Santosh Iyer, the MD and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, emphasized the importance of the TEV segment, which represents 25% of the company’s sales in India. He noted that customer preference for luxury vehicles like the GLS, Maybach, and AMG range underscores the growing popularity of exclusive top-end models.

The sales performance in the first quarter of this year reflects this trend, with Mercedes-Benz India selling 5,412 units, marking a 15% increase compared to the same period last year.

With a focus on catering to the discerning Indian market, Mercedes-Benz India aims to further strengthen its position in the luxury segment by offering exclusive models tailored to meet the evolving preferences of customers.
