Kerala Schools Reopen Today; CM to Inaugurate ‘Praveshanolsavam’ in Ernakulam

Schools and colleges across Kerala are set to reopen today after the summer vacation. The state-level school reopening event, known as ‘Praveshanolsavam,’ will be held at Elamakara Government Higher Secondary School in Ernakulam at 9:30 a.m., with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan presiding over the ceremony. This academic year, 2,44,646 children will be admitted to Class 1 across the state.

Admissions will continue throughout the week, with a government focus on enrolling new students in the fifth and eighth grades. The final count of admissions will be conducted on June 10. This year introduces new textbooks for classes 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9, following a curriculum revision. Additionally, higher education will see the commencement of the four-year degree program on July 1.
