Suresh Gopi Likely to Receive Cabinet Rank in Union Ministry
Suresh Gopi, who secured the BJP’s first-ever Lok Sabha seat in Kerala, is expected to become a Union minister, potentially with cabinet rank. Reports indicate that key BJP allies have staked claims for several major portfolios, including home, finance, roads, and railways. However, the departments of home, defense, and finance are expected to remain with the BJP.
Chandra Babu Naidu is reportedly seeking cabinet positions in road transport, rural development, education, health, housing and urban affairs, agriculture, hydropower, IT, and telecom, along with a minister of state position in finance.
Current ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman, Nitin Gadkari, S. Jaishankar, Ashwini Vaishnaw, Piyush Goyal, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Kiran Rijiju, Dharmendra Pradhan, Jitendra Singh, Bhupendra Yadav, Hardeep Singh Puri, and Jyotiraditya Scindia are expected to retain their positions. Additionally, LJP leader Chirag Paswan and HAM leader Jitan Ram Manjhi are also anticipated to join the ministry.
