IMD Issues Rain Alerts for Kerala: Orange Alert for Kannur and Kasaragod
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted widespread rainfall across Kerala, predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated areas throughout the state. According to an IMD bulletin, a shear zone roughly along 18°N, observed between 3.1 km and 5.8 km above mean sea level, is expected to result in significant rainfall.
