Kannada Superstar Darshan Arrested in Youth Murder Case

The Bengaluru police have arrested renowned Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa in connection with a murder case. He was taken into custody on Tuesday morning for interrogation. Deputy Police Commissioner S Girish confirmed the arrest but did not provide details to the media.

According to Deccan Herald, Darshan was apprehended from a private hotel near Chamarajendra Zoological Garden in Mysore. Police investigations revealed that Darshan had connections with three individuals previously arrested in the murder case of Renuka Swamy, a resident of Chitradurga.

Renuka Swamy’s body was discovered in Bengaluru’s Kamakshipalya two months ago, with multiple injuries on his head and body. It is suspected that Swamy was murdered after sending an obscene message to actress Pavitra Gowda, a close friend of Darshan. Nine individuals linked to Pavitra Gowda were also detained.

The police suspect that Darshan orchestrated a revenge plot, tracing Swamy’s location and instructing a three-member team to kidnap him. It is believed that Swamy was taken to Darshan’s farmhouse, where he was killed and his body disposed of in a drain in Kamakshipalya.

The investigation began following a missing person report for Swamy. Initially, three individuals surrendered to the police, claiming they had killed Swamy due to financial issues, but the police were skeptical. Further interrogation of the suspects led to Darshan’s involvement being uncovered.
