Lt. General Upendra Dwivedi Appointed as Next Chief of Army Staff

Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi has been appointed as the new Chief of Army Staff and will assume his role on June 30. He will succeed General Manoj Pande, who is set to retire on the same date. Although General Pande’s term officially ended last month, it was extended by a month due to the Lok Sabha elections.

Lt. General Dwivedi has been recognized with the Param Vishisht Seva Medal and Ati Vishisht Seva Medal for his exemplary service. With over four decades of service in the Indian Army, he has held numerous significant positions, including the Director General of Infantry.
