Deadly Israeli Attacks Claim Lives of 40 Palestinians in Gaza

Israeli airstrikes in Gaza have inflicted significant casualties, with health authorities reporting that 40 Palestinians have been killed and 224 injured over the past day. These attacks, part of an ongoing conflict, have intensified in areas like Rafah and Shujaeya, where clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinian factions have escalated. According to Hamas-controlled sources, the total death toll among Palestinians since October 2023 has reached 37,834, with over 86,858 injuries recorded.

Avichay Adraee, an Israeli military spokesperson, described ongoing operations targeting what Israel terms as “terrorist” infrastructure, including tunnels and weapons caches. The situation has worsened humanitarian conditions in Gaza, where access to shelter, food, medicine, and clean water remains severely restricted, exacerbated by recent disruptions to aid deliveries due to adverse weather conditions affecting a temporary floating aid pier operated by the US. The conflict, triggered by tensions and violence along the Gaza-Israel border in October 2023, continues to provoke international concern and calls for de-escalation efforts.
