Change in Holiday Date: Banks and Government Offices Closed on September 28 in Kerala

The Kerala government has issued an official order to postpone the ‘Milad-e-Sharif’ holiday from September 27 to September 28. Consequently, on Thursday, September 28, government offices, public sector enterprises, professional colleges, and banks will be closed in observance of the rescheduled holiday, in accordance with the Negotiable Instruments Act.

In light of this change, it has been communicated to the public that September 27 will remain a regular working day for all.

The decision to reschedule the Milad-e-Sharif holiday was made in response to requests from Muslim organizations received in the past week. According to the government’s official holiday calendar, Milad-e-Sharif, which commemorates the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad, originally fell on September 27.
