Nawaz Sharif Nominates Shehbaz for Pakistan PM, Maryam for Punjab CM

In a significant political move, Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), has officially nominated his brother, Shehbaz Sharif, for the position of Pakistan Prime Minister. The announcement was made by PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb on the social media platform X. Additionally, Maryam Nawaz has been nominated for the crucial role of Punjab Chief Minister. The decision was met with gratitude from Nawaz Sharif, who thanked the people of Pakistan and leaders from various political parties for their unwavering support.

This nomination follows a prior announcement by PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif, who declared Nawaz Sharif as the party’s candidate for Prime Minister and Maryam Nawaz for Punjab Chief Minister. Shehbaz Sharif, reflecting on his previous term as Pakistan Prime Minister, emphasized the successful efforts of the coalition government in averting economic risks and praised the collective achievements during his tenure. The political landscape witnessed a multi-party gathering, including key figures from PML-N, PPP, and PML-Q, indicating a united front to address the challenges facing Pakistan.

Moreover, PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari highlighted the importance of collaboration and reconciliation, urging political forces, including the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), to join efforts in steering Pakistan out of crisis. Zardari emphasized the need for a common ground on economic and defense issues, expressing a commitment to working together for the greater good of the country. Despite past electoral rivalries, the focus is now on collaborative discussions to address economic challenges, debt concerns, and uplift the people of Pakistan from poverty.
