Israel’s Readiness for Gaza Invasion: IDF Chief’s Firm Declaration

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief-of-Staff, Lt.-Gen. Herzi Halevi, made a strong statement on Tuesday, confirming the preparedness of ground personnel stationed at the southern border to invade Gaza. Speaking at a briefing held at the country’s southern border, Halevi emphasized the IDF’s readiness for a ground invasion into Gaza, asserting that the decision on the precise timing of the invasion is being made in coordination with the nation’s political leaders.

Addressing the delay in responding to the Hamas terror attacks on October 7, Halevi explained that strategic and tactical considerations are allowing them additional time to enhance their readiness. He emphasized that every moment passing allows them to intensify attacks on the enemy, targeting fighters, commanders, and infrastructure while gathering crucial intelligence for future operations. The IDF’s approach aims to keep Hamas in a state of tension, increasing stress as the group awaits the Israeli invasion.

Furthermore, the Israeli Air Force (IAF) announced its successful thwarting of terrorists affiliated with Hamas, under the guidance of the Shin Bet intelligence agency. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu echoed the resolve, stating that Israel’s sole objective is to dismantle Hamas, and the operation will persist until this goal is achieved.

Amidst these developments, alarms indicating infiltrations were reported in areas like Netiv Ha’asara, leading to evacuations and precautionary measures for residents.
