Indian Shooting Trio Shatters World Record, Wins Gold in 50m Rifle Event at Asian Games

The Indian shooting team continues to shine at the Hangzhou Asian Games, with the men’s trio of Swapnil Kusal, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, and Akhil Sheoran securing a gold medal in the 50m rifle men’s 3P event. Their outstanding score of 1769 points not only earned India its 15th medal in the competition but also broke the world record previously held by the USA.

This victory marks India’s 15th medal at the ongoing Asian Games in Hangzhou. The team’s remarkable performance demonstrates India’s dominance in shooting events. The women’s team also contributed to India’s success, securing a silver medal in the 10m air rifle pistol team final, narrowly missing gold by five points.

India’s total medal count at the Asian Games Hangzhou now stands at 27, including seven gold, nine silver, and 11 bronze medals. The exceptional achievements of Indian shooters continue to make the nation proud at this international sporting event.
