Dhanush and Aishwarya Rajinikanth File for Divorce After Two Years of Separation

Actor-filmmaker Dhanush and director Aishwarya Rajinikanth have recently filed for divorce after two years of separation. Reports suggest that the couple submitted a petition seeking divorce at a Chennai family court under Section 13B of The Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, which deals with divorce by mutual consent. This decision comes after Dhanush and Aishwarya announced their separation in January 2022, citing the need to take time apart to understand themselves better as individuals. In their announcement on social media, they reflected on their 18 years of togetherness as friends, partners, parents, and supporters of each other’s journey, expressing mutual respect and understanding despite their decision to part ways as a couple.

Dhanush and Aishwarya tied the knot in 2004 and are parents to two sons, Yatra and Linga. While Aishwarya recently returned to directing with ‘Lal Salaam’, featuring her father Rajinikanth, Dhanush has been active in his film career. His latest release, ‘Captain Miller’, directed by Arun Matheswaran and produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, marks another venture in his versatile acting repertoire. Despite their personal decision to separate, both Dhanush and Aishwarya continue to pursue their professional endeavors in the entertainment industry.
