Akasa Air Launches International Operations; First Flight from Mumbai to Doha

Indian airline Akasa Air is set to commence its international operations with flights connecting Mumbai to Doha starting from March 28, 2024. The airline plans to operate four non-stop flights per week between the two cities, aiming to enhance air connectivity between India and Qatar. Akasa Air, which began operations in August 2022, has rapidly expanded its domestic presence and has now set its sights on international routes, with a focus on the Middle East.

This move follows Akasa Air’s recent order for 150 Boeing 737 MAX narrowbody planes, marking a major commitment to the Boeing aircraft program. The airline has expressed its ambition to become one of the world’s top 30 airlines by the end of the decade. Akasa Air’s foray into the international market is a significant step in achieving this goal, and it plans to further expand its presence in the region with flights to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and more destinations in the first phase of its international expansion.
