Temperature Soars Across Kerala as Monsoon Weakens

As the monsoon experiences a setback, temperatures have surged across Kerala, with certain regions witnessing an approximately four-degree Celsius rise in average temperatures.

On Thursday, Palakkad observed a temperature of 34.20°C, marking a substantial 4.90°C increase compared to its usual average. Similarly, Kottayam saw a temperature surge of 3.8°C, while Alappuzha and Kannur experienced a 3.5°C increase. Other districts also witnessed temperature gains of up to 2°C.

Although a low-pressure system is anticipated to develop over the northwest Bay of Bengal on Friday, its influence on the Kerala monsoon is projected to be minimal. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has not predicted any significant rainfall for Kerala in the upcoming days.
