India Marks 75th Republic Day with Grand Parade Showcasing Cultural Diversity and Nari Shakti

On January 26, India commemorates its 75th Republic Day with a grand celebration at Kartavya Path in New Delhi. President Droupadi Murmu will unfurl the national flag, and the Republic Day parade, highlighting the nation’s rich cultural diversity, is set to commence at 10:30 am. French President Emmanuel Macron graces the occasion as the chief guest, and the theme for this year’s celebrations is “Vikasit Bharat and Bharat – Model of World Strategy.” Notably, the parade features 13,000 special guests, with Governor Arif Muhammad Khan hoisting the flag in Thiruvananthapuram as part of the Kerala celebrations.

Under the theme of “Nari Shakti,” women officers from various forces lead the parade, with Malayali IPS officer Shweta K. Sugathan heading the Delhi Police team. Over 100 women will kick off the parade by playing traditional Indian musical instruments. Women pilots will also participate in the flypast, symbolizing the strength of Nari Shakti. The parade, led by women officers, includes Lieutenant General Bhavnish Kumar and Major General Sumit Mehta. Additionally, the French Armed Forces, with 90 members led by Captain Noel, and a 30-member French band, add an international touch to the event.

Various military displays, including Advanced Light Helicopters, Nag Missiles, Infantry Combat Vehicles, Pinaka, the ‘Swati’ Weapon Locating Radar System, Drone Jammer System, and India’s indigenous weapons, will be showcased. However, controversy surrounds the rejection of Kerala’s tableau, while Uttar Pradesh plans to feature the Ayodhya Ram Temple in its display. Special guests include beneficiaries of central government schemes, enhancing the inclusive spirit of the 75th Republic Day celebrations.
