COVID-19: 19 new cases confirmed in Kerala

19 more coronavirus positive cases have been confirmed in Kerala on Thursday, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. With this the number of persons in hospitals for COVID-19 have touched 126. Till date 138 persons have tested positive for coronavirus in state with 12 recovered, the CM added.Out of the 19 new cases, 9 are from Kannur, 3 each from Kasaragod, Malappuram, 2 from Thrissur and one each from Idukki and Wayanad. This is the first case in Wayanad and second in Idukki.

 


Five persons suffering from COVID-19 have recovered and left hospital in Ernakulam. Two are British citizens and 3 are Italy-returnees from Kannur – a child and parents, he added. Total of 1,20,003 persons are under observation in the state. Among them, 601 are in hospitals while the rest are in their houses. Out of the tested, 908 samples have come out negative. Pinarayi Vijayan added that a community kitchen scheme will be launched in the state. He also welcomed the package announced by the Centre and said that the state will utilise the package efficiently.
