Ingredients

  • 5 cups full-cream milk
  • 3 cups samak rice
  • 12 cashews
  • 20-25 raisins
  • 5 small cardamom pods
  • 1/2 cup sugar

Preparation

  1. Wash samak rice thoroughly and soak it for half an hour.
  2. Boil milk in a heavy pan.
  3. Add the soaked rice and stir well.
  4. Stir every 3 or 4 minutes, ensuring the rice cooks evenly.
  5. Once the rice is tender, add cashews and raisins.
  6. Cook until the mixture thickens to the desired consistency.
  7. Add sugar, mixing it thoroughly.
  8. Grind a few cardamom seeds and add them for a delightful aroma.
