The latest news on BMW suggests that they would launch the M8 Competition and the 8 Series Gran Coupe in India soon. Autocar India reports that these BMW cars will see online launches prior to when the current Coronavirus lockdown lifts. You might now remember us telling you about the BMW Contactless Experience that had recently been launched in the country, through a previous post. The same online platform would be made use of for the launches of these cars as well.
Talking about the cars, the 8 Series Gran Coupe stands out from the crowd with its sharp, sexy design and breathtaking performance. It is the German marque’s flagship range and is expected to cost north of INR 1.4 Crores for the Gran Coupe and more than INR 2.3 for the M8.
The 840i Gran Coupe is about 5 metres in length and has a highly practical four-door layout. A turbocharged straight-six gasoline engine sends power to the rear wheels of this magnificent machine. The aforementioned publication reports that the dealers have recorded quite commendable customer interests for the 8 series coupe.
The M8 competition would belong to the farther end of the price bracket. Expected to start at around INR 2.3 crores, as mentioned before, this machine would have the manufacturer’s most powerful twin-turbo V8 breathing out a whopping 625hp under the hood! The M8, essentially a grand tourer and Sportscar merged into one, would also get switchable AWD, as per the report.
