Mohan Yadav Appointed as Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh

Mohan Yadav, a BJP MLA from Ujjain South, has been appointed as the new Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. The decision was made during a meeting held at the party headquarters in Bhopal. The 58-year-old leader, who previously served as the higher education minister in the Shivraj Singh Chouhan cabinet, was selected to lead the BJP government in the state. The announcement comes 10 days after the BJP secured 163 out of 230 seats in the assembly election.

The state will also have two Deputy Chief Ministers, Jagdisgh Devda and Rajesh Shukla. Union Minister Narendra Tomar is set to become the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker. Mohan Yadav, who became an MLA in 2013 and was re-elected in the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections, had previously taken the oath as a cabinet minister in the state government in July 2020.
