Halt in Construction of CPM Party Offices in Idukki Ordered by Kerala High Court

The Kerala High Court has issued an order to cease the construction of Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM) offices in Idukki due to alleged violations of building regulations. The court has emphasized that if necessary, police assistance could be sought, and the Idukki district collector has been directed to enforce this order.

As a result of the court’s ruling, the ongoing construction of CPM party offices in Shantanpara, Bison Valley, and Udumbanchola will be immediately halted. The revelation of construction activities came to light after a report from Mathrubhumi News. The revenue department had previously issued a stop memo to prevent the construction of structures lacking the required no-objection certificate (NOC). However, this did not deter the party from proceeding with their projects.

This order has been issued by the Munnar bench, which addresses encroachment issues in different localities within the Idukki district. This legal action by the court follows a prior directive to cease construction work in the Munnar area.
