Palakkad Leads Onam Bumper Lottery Sales with 3.80 Lakh Tickets Sold

In the Palakkad district, a total of 380,000 Onam bumper lottery tickets have been purchased, generating revenue of Rs 15.20 crores from ticket sales. Palakkad leads the state in ticket sales, surpassing other districts. The district office sold 250,000 tickets, the Chittoor sub-office sold 67,000, and 63,000 tickets were sold at Pattambi.

The ticket sales commenced on July 27. Palakkad district outperformed Thiruvananthapuram, which secured the second position, by selling an additional 72,000 tickets. In the previous year, Palakkad district also held the record for the highest ticket sales. While the entire state saw 6.7 million tickets sold, Palakkad alone managed to sell 1.05 million tickets. The district aims to achieve a sales target of 1.2 million tickets this year. Across the state, a total of 9 million tickets will be available in 10 series. Within 20 days, 2,350,000 tickets have already been sold statewide. The grand draw is scheduled for September 20, offering a first prize of Rs 25 crore at a ticket cost of Rs 500.
