Amrit Bharat Sleeper Non-AC Train Services Commence Today with Inauguration by PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the Amrit Bharat sleeper non-AC train today, formerly named ‘Vande Sadharan.’ The train is part of the Vande Bharat series and will operate with a speed of 130 kmph. The initial services include routes from Delhi to Darbhanga via Ayodhya and from Malda in Kolkata to Bangalore. However, the fares for Amrit Bharat are reported to be 17% higher than those of other express trains. Despite expectations of affordable fares, the pricing for Amrit Bharat ranges from Rs 35 to Rs 933 for second class seating and Rs 46 to Rs 1469 for sleeper class. Notably, the train has a capacity of 1,800 passengers and offers advanced safety features like ‘Kavach’ collision avoidance technology, push-pull technology with front and rear engines, quick movement and braking capabilities, mobile chargers on every seat, CCTV security, and more.

The Amrit Bharat express has 22 coaches, including 12 Second Class Tier 3 Sleepers, eight general compartments, and two guard compartments. While being manufactured at the Chennai Integral Coach Factory, the train boasts amenities such as a luggage rack, phone holder, and station information through TV screens. However, unlike Vande Bharat, Amrit Bharat does not include meals with the ticket. Despite the elevated fares, the new train services aim to provide enhanced safety and comfort to passengers, with mobile charging facilities, improved braking technology, and modern amenities on board.
