ED issued summons to former minister VS Sivakumar

Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued a summons to former Health and Devaswom Minister and Congress legislator VS Sivakumar to appear at the ED office on April 20. As per the reports, the summons was issued in connection with a probe into alleged financial discrepancies and black money dealings during his period in the office between 2011-16.

It has been alleged that Sivakumar amassed wealth illegally and diverted it to his close associates. In 2020, Kerala’s Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) raided his house over the same charges. VACB reportedly found anomalies and a case was registered. ED’s intervention comes in wake of a primary probe on the matter.
