Anil Radhakrishnan, a senior Kerala journalist, is no longer with us.

S Anil Radhakrishnan, a senior journalist and the chief of The Hindu newspaper’s Thiruvananthapuram office, died on Wednesday after suffering a heart arrest.

He was 54 years old at the time.

Anil was found dead by his wife in the afternoon at his residence in Kuravankonam, near Kowadiar in Thiruvananthapuram.

Beginning in 1996, he worked for The Hindu, where he wrote various developmental articles on topics such as tourism and railways.

In addition, he served as secretary of the Kowadiar Residents’ Association.

Pinarayi Vijayan, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, Kerala Assembly Speaker M B Rajesh, Ministers V Sivankutty, K Rajan, P Rajeev, and opposition leader V D Satheesan all expressed their sorrow at his passing.

Anil is survived by his wife Sindhu S S (a teacher at Thiruvananthapuram’s Government Higher Secondary School for Girls) and son Narayan S A. (Reliance Petroleum, Gujarat).

On Friday at 10 a.m., he will be cremated in the Santhikavadam cremation in Thycaud.
