KSRTC Awaits Salary Disbursement as Funding Falls Short

KSRTC is poised to release the initial portion of last month’s wages next Monday. With Rs 16 crores in revenue at hand, they will have to secure an overdraft to cover the remaining Rs 36 crores needed for half of the salary. The second installment can only be distributed upon receiving government support.

Back on August 26, KSRTC forwarded a formal request for financial aid amounting to Rs 80 crores to the Finance Department via the Transport Department. Unfortunately, no funds were granted. The payment for July salaries was disbursed on August 23, despite the necessity to reduce employment tax and dies non expenses, which totaled Rs 76 crores. The government’s primary reliance for salary distribution remains the Rs 70 crore provided.
