UK Passport Fees to Rise Starting Next Week

Starting next week, the UK government is set to implement an increase in passport fees, affecting both renewals and new applications.

As reported by Euronews, the fee adjustment will impact adults renewing their passport online from within the UK, with the cost rising to £88.50 from £82.50. Similarly, the fee for children’s passport applications will increase to £57.50 from £53.50. These changes are slated to take effect from April 11.

The UK government has clarified that the rise in fees is intended to cover the expenses associated with processing passport applications, providing consular support abroad (including for lost or stolen passports), and facilitating the processing of British citizens at UK borders. Additionally, the increased fees will contribute to the ongoing improvement of government services.
