Heavy Rain; Holiday announced for two districts on Monday

On the wave of heavy rain, district authorities announced a holiday for all educational institutions in Wayanad and Kasargod on Monday. Wayanad District Collector has announced a holiday for all educational institutions, including professional colleges. Meantime, a holiday has been declared for educational institutions in the Kasaragod district on Monday.

However, this will not apply to all colleges including professional colleges in the district. The IMD further said widespread rain was likely in the southern state over the next five days with very heavy rains predicted on July 13 and 14. According to the state disaster management authority, six people lost their lives in rain-related incidents across the state and several homes were damaged.
