Malayalam Film Festival Brings Nostalgic Hits to Big Screen: Where to Watch

Film enthusiasts and nostalgic movie lovers in Kerala are in for a treat as the Malayalam Film Festival, organized by the Film Academy in collaboration with the Kerala State Film Development Corporation (KSFDC), is set to showcase a curated selection of popular and iconic films from the past. The festival, named Keralaeeyam, will feature 22 films that have left an indelible mark on Malayalam cinema.

Among the films scheduled for screening are timeless classics like Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha, Godfather, Manichitrathazhu, Vaisali, Nakhakshathangal, Perumthachan, Kireedam, 1921, Manjil Virinja Pookkal, Yathra, Anubhavangal Paalichakal, Oru Minnaminunginte Nurunguvettam, Nokkethadhoorathu Kannum Nattu, Kolilakkam, Madanolsavam, and Pranchiyettan & the Saint. These films, spanning various genres and themes, have received accolades at both state and national levels, becoming cherished pieces of Malayalam cinema history.

The screenings will take place at Kairali Theater from November 2nd to 7th. The festival promises a cinematic journey down memory lane, allowing audiences to relive the magic of these beloved films on the big screen. There will be a total of 100 films exhibited throughout the seven-day festival, categorized into classic films, children’s films, women’s films, popular films, and documentaries.

Film enthusiasts eager to experience the nostalgia of these iconic movies can attend the screenings free of charge. The seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis, so attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure their spots and immerse themselves in the cinematic wonders of Malayalam cinema’s golden era.
