India Kicks Off 19th Asian Games with Five Medals on Day One

India made a promising start on the opening day of the 19th Asian Games, clinching a total of five medals. The nation’s medal haul included three silver medals and two bronze medals, showcasing the prowess of Indian athletes in various sports disciplines.

Rowing proved to be a fruitful endeavor for India on the first day. Arjunlal Jatt and Arvind Singh set the tone by winning a silver medal in the men’s lightweight double sculls event, securing a place on the medal table. India’s rowing excellence continued with the men’s team, consisting of Neeraj, Naresh, Nitish, Charanjeet, Jaswinder, Bheem, Punit, Ashish, and Dhananjay Pandey, claiming a well-deserved silver medal. In the men’s pair event, Babulal Yadav and Lekh Ram showcased their skills and determination, earning India a bronze medal.

Shooting was another arena where India demonstrated its competitive spirit. The women’s shooting team, comprising Mehuli Ghosh, Ashi Chowkse, and Ramitha, secured a silver medal in the 10m air rifle team event. Additionally, Ramitha’s exceptional performance in the individual event earned her a bronze medal.
