Cochin Shipyard Secures ₹1,050-Crore Contract to Construct Vessels for European Offshore Wind Farm Service Provider

Cochin Shipyard Ltd (CSL) has signed a significant ₹1,050 crore agreement to manufacture two vessels for a European company engaged in offshore wind farm repair operations.

These ships are being constructed for Pelagic Wind Services (PWS), a Cyprus-based firm specializing in servicing and repairing offshore wind farms in Europe. This represents CSL’s largest contract with a European company to date.

Construction of the vessels commenced on Friday during an official ceremony held in Kochi.

Shripad Naik, the Union Minister of State for Tourism and Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, noted that Cochin Shipyard’s agreement marks a significant step toward India’s emergence as a global manufacturing hub.

The vessels will receive zero-emission certification and will feature hotel amenities and onboard logistics to provide a secure and appealing workspace for approximately 150 technicians.
