Kerala’s Culinary Offerings at G20 Dinner: Chempav Rice and Jackfruit Highlighted

During the G20 summit, President Draupadi Murmu hosted a dinner that showcased Kerala’s culinary delights. Notably, the menu featured Chempav rice and jackfruit dishes, offering a taste of Kerala to world leaders.

The menu comprised exclusively vegetarian Indian dishes. To begin, a millet dish was served with curd and chammanti. For the main course, guests savored galette paired with jackfruit and wild mushroom, along with millet and neem scallion rice. Mumbai pav, onion-flavored mardhavam bun, and cardamom-flavored bakarkhani complemented the main course.

Desserts featured millet pudding, fig and peach compote, and ambemohar rice crisps. To quench their thirst, attendees had the option of Kashmiri kava, filter coffee, and Darjeeling tea. As a delightful conclusion to the meal, chocolate-flavored bread was served.

Foreign heads of state were warmly welcomed by the President and the Prime Minister at the Bharat Mandap dinner. The guest list included 170 individuals, comprising former Prime Ministers, Union Ministers, Union Ministers of State, State Chief Ministers, and senior officials from the Central Government. Notably, Opposition Chief Ministers such as MK Stalin, Mamata Banerjee, Nitish Kumar, Arvind Kejriwal, Bhagwant Mann, Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, and Hemant Soren were also present at the dinner.
