Landslide in Kannur; residents advised to exercise caution

Due to the heavy rain, a landslide occurred on Nedumpoyil-Mananthavady road here on Sunday. It is learnt that water level is increasing in Kanjirappuzha river. Areas in Vellara have been flooded.

Following this, the authority asked the residents on river banks to exercise caution. It is for the second consecutive day, that the Kannur district reported a landslide. Meanwhile, the India Metrological Department has predicted heavy rains in Kerala till September 1.
