In the last 24 hours, India has recorded 7,145 new COVID-19 cases and 289 deaths

New Delhi: According to data released by the Ministry of Health on Saturday, India recorded 7,145 new COVID-19 cases and 289 deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing the total caseload to 3,47,33,194 and the total death toll to 4,77,158. (December 18, 2021). Today, the country also recorded 8,706 recoveries.

In the past 24 hours, the active COVID-19 caseload has decreased by 1,850 cases. The number of active cases is now at 84,565, the lowest in 569 days.

The active cases account for 0.24 percent of total infections, the lowest since March 2020, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was 98.38 percent, the highest since March 2020, according to the ministry.

The daily positivity rate was calculated to be 0.57 percent. It has been less than 2% for the last 75 days. The positivity rate for the week was 0.62 percent. According to the health ministry, it has been less than 1% for the past 34 days.

The number of people who have recovered from the disease has risen to 3,41,71,471, with a case fatality rate of 1.37 percent.

Furthermore, with the administration of 62,06,244 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed 136.66 Cr (1,36,66,05,173), according to preliminary data as of 7 a.m. today. This was accomplished through 1,43,67,288 sessions.
