New Beach Project Planned for Old Doha Port to Boost Tourism
The government is in the process of launching a fresh beach endeavor on the western side of the historical Doha port as part of its vision to transform the nation into a prominent tourism hotspot. The project envisions a wide array of amenities, including cafes, restaurants, hotels, and apartments.
In addition to these developments, there will be an extensive 8-kilometer-long cycling path, a picturesque garden, and a bustling fish market. Enthusiastic swimmers will have the opportunity to enjoy the tranquil waters at this new beach. Authorities are optimistic that this addition will attract a larger influx of both regional and international tourists to the country.
The old Doha port is currently a cherished landmark known for its distinctive features. Residents and tourists often flock to the beach for its natural splendor and exceptional facilities. It is conveniently situated near several notable attractions, including the Museum of Islamic Art, Sooq Waqif, National Museum, and the Doha Cornish.
During weekends, the port buzzes with families and visitors seeking quality leisure time, often serving as a venue for various cultural events and festivals, particularly during the month of Ramzan.
Doha boasts three major ports, including the old Doha port, where up to thirty small boats, each measuring 30 meters in length, can find berths. Furthermore, these ports offer fifty berths suitable for accommodating large vessels ranging from 50 to 160 meters in length. The cruise passengers are welcomed by a magnificent grand terminal upon their arrival.
One of the distinguishing features of the area is the buildings, which proudly exhibit traditional Qatari architectural styles. These structures are adorned with vibrant and captivating hues such as pink, green, white, yellow, brown, and blue. Adventurous souls can partake in a variety of water sports activities at the beach. Additionally, the Mina district boasts an array of international brand outlets and dining establishments, making it a compelling destination for visitors.
