Tragic Accident Claims Lives of Three Friends in Thrissur
In a heart-wrenching incident near Mala in Kuzhikkattussery, three friends met with a fatal accident when their car plunged into a stone quarry pond on Monday night. The victims, identified as Titto (48), Shyam (51), and George (48), lost their lives in the horrifying crash that occurred around 11 pm. The car reportedly veered off a narrow path, crashing through the road barrier and landing in a 50 feet deep quarry pond near Varadanad Temple. Despite swift responses from local authorities, including police and fire and safety personnel, the bodies could only be recovered on Tuesday morning, with scuba divers navigating the challenging conditions to retrieve the victims from the submerged vehicle.
The narrow path proved perilous as the vehicle broke through the road barrier, leading to the devastating plunge into the 50 feet deep quarry pond. Despite immediate response efforts by local authorities, the bodies of the victims remained submerged until early Tuesday morning, when scuba divers successfully navigated the challenging conditions to retrieve them from the sunken car.
