School Holiday announced on Tuesday March 6

Ernakulam district collector Dr Renu Raj on Monday informed that it will be a holiday for students in Classes 1 to 7 in schools on Tuesday in the regions affected by the Brahmapuram fire.

The decision comes after Judge Devan Ramachandran has written to Kerala High Court Chief Justice, seeking intervention in resolving issues related to the Brahmapuram fire.

The move comes in the backdrop of reports which said the toxic smoke from the fire has been spreading to many parts of the city. Judge has urged the Chief Justice to immediately intervene in the matter and make necessary arrangements to deal with the contingencies.
