Paytm, MakeMyTrip, to offer help India for COVID-19 vaccine booking

Paytm, Infosys and MakeMyTrip are planning to provide help for online Covid-19 vaccine bookings, the head of the government’s tech platform said, as the country tries to make it easier for its huge population to book vaccine schedule. They are seeking approval from government.

The government last month relaxed rules to allow third-party apps to provide vaccine bookings to avoid hindrances that  delays vaccination booking. It also had problems with its own vaccine booking platform.

Private companies, including Indian healthcare giants Apollo  has asked to be allowed to offer vaccine bookings, RS Sharma, head of the government’s panel managing the CoWIN vaccination registration platform, informed Reuters.

“It will work in favour of the country, the union of all the entities is better than just one individual platform,” Sharma said.
