Fuel prices hiked again

Mumbai: On Tuesday, the public sector oil marketing corporations raised the price of petroleum fuels once more. Petrol prices have risen by 35 paise per litre, while diesel prices have risen by 29 paise. In Thiruvananthapuram, petrol costs Rs. 100.79 per litre and diesel costs Rs. 95.74 per litre. This is the 58th fuel hike in the last six months, and the 17th hike of the month.

Many states, including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, and Ladakh, have already seen petrol prices surpass Rs.100 per litre. Petrol prices in Mumbai reached an all-time high of Rs 104.90 a litre. On May 29, the city became the first metro in the country to sell petrol for more than Rs 100 per litre. Diesel prices have surpassed Rs 100 a litre in Sri Ganganagar and Hanumangarh in Rajasthan, as well as in a few places in Odisha.
