Migrant youth killed, after thrown off from the moving train by friend

A youth has been killed after being thrown off a moving train by a friend, following an argument. An altercation that erupted among friends while travelling on the Kannur-Ernakulam Intercity Express ended in tragedy. The deceased has been identified as Uttar Pradesh native Vivek.

Police have recorded the arrest of Assam native Mufadur Islam who threw Vivek off the running train. Both of them were employees at a private firm at Meenchanda in Kozhikode. Following a verbal duel between the friends, Mufadur pushed Vivek out off the train when the train reached Kannookkara.

The co-passengers, who witnessed this, caught Mufadur and handed him over to the railway police. He is currently in the custody of the Kozhikode railway police. Vivek was found in a severely injured condition during a search carried out by the police and Railway Police Force as per the directions of the co-passengers. Though he was admitted to the Govt Medical College in Kozhikode, he succumbed to injuries while undertaking treatment.
