Minor Boy’s Mischievous Act: Death Threat to Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan Raises Concerns

In an alarming incident, a 12-year-old boy, using his mother’s phone, called the state police headquarters and issued a death threat to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The police promptly responded, filing a case and launching an investigation into the matter. While the authorities view the incident as a playful and mischievous act by the minor, they are diligently exploring all angles to ensure the safety and security of the Chief Minister and the public.

According to preliminary investigations, the school student, hailing from Ernakulam district, made the threatening call from his mother’s phone without her knowledge. The threat was made to the control room of the police headquarters on Wednesday evening, causing immediate concern among law enforcement officials and the public.

A case has been registered at the Museum police station under sections 118(b) and 120(o) of the Kerala Police Act against the phone number used to make the threat. Section 118(b) pertains to knowingly spreading rumors or giving false alarms to mislead the police, fire brigade, or essential services. Section 120(o) deals with causing a nuisance through communication methods, such as undesirable or anonymous calls, letters, messages, emails, or messengers.

While the incident is attributed to the playful actions of a minor, law enforcement agencies are taking the matter seriously, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the security protocols surrounding public figures. Investigations continue to uncover all details related to the incident, ensuring that appropriate legal actions are taken to prevent such incidents in the future and uphold public safety.
