Kerala CM Assures Efficient Progress in Blast Probe, Urges Restraint Amidst Tragedy

In the aftermath of the tragic blasts that occurred at a religious gathering in Kalamassery, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan provided an update on the ongoing investigation. Vijayan stated that the probe into the multiple blasts, which claimed three lives, was progressing efficiently. He highlighted that attendees at Jehovah’s Witness gatherings were well-informed about safety protocols, preventing any stampede during the incident.

The Chief Minister mentioned that investigating agencies, including the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and fingerprint officers, were diligently examining the case. Urging the public to remain calm and united, he emphasized the importance of avoiding unnecessary controversies related to the incident. Vijayan made these remarks after visiting the blast site, meeting the victims’ families, and ensuring that those receiving treatment at the medical college were getting necessary care.

The tragic incident occurred at the Zamra International Convention & Exhibition Centre during a prayer meeting of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, resulting in the loss of three lives and injuries to several individuals, six of whom were initially in critical condition. The Chief Minister’s call for unity and restraint echoes the sentiment of resilience amidst adversity in the face of this unfortunate event.
