Indian Hockey Star Sreejesh Resolves Differences with Kerala Government, Embraces School Sports Initiative

Indian hockey player PR Sreejesh, previously critical of the treatment given to Asian Games medal winners, has now retracted his statement, expressing harmony with the Kerala government. Sreejesh made this announcement during a media interaction in Kunnamkulam, coinciding with the Kerala State School Sports Meet. He clarified that he would actively participate in the state government’s upcoming felicitation event for sports personalities, slated for October 19 in Thiruvananthapuram.

Addressing the media, Sreejesh emphasized his role as the Education Department Deputy Director and Chief Sports Organiser, highlighting the significance of school sports meets in nurturing future Olympians. He underscored how these events aid students in handling victories and defeats, drawing from his own school sports experiences, where he excelled in shot put. The hockey star actively engaged in the event, joining MLA AC Moideen and other dignitaries after participating in the flag hoisting ceremony.
