Tragic Train Collision Claims Six Lives in Andhra Pradesh: Investigations Underway

In a devastating incident that unfolded late on Sunday night, a fatal train collision occurred in Kantakapalli, located in the Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh. The collision tragically claimed the lives of at least six individuals and left more than 25 people injured. The collision involved a passenger train en route from Visakhapatnam to Rayagada in Odisha.

The tragedy occurred due to a break in the overhead cable, causing the passenger train to come to a halt. Shockingly, the Palasa Express, another incoming train, ended up on the same track and collided with the stationary passenger train, leading to the derailment of three coaches. The six individuals who lost their lives were passengers from these derailed coaches, adding a somber note to the incident.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed his condolences regarding the accident. He has promptly directed the authorities to initiate immediate relief measures at the accident site and ensure urgent medical assistance to the injured. Investigations are currently underway to determine the exact circumstances that led to this tragic collision.
