India-Qatar Ties Strengthening: PM Modi Discusses Collaboration in Futuristic Sectors with Qatari Emir

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed optimism about the strengthening ties between India and Qatar following talks with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. Describing the meeting as “wonderful,” Modi highlighted discussions on deepening cooperation across various sectors and the potential for collaboration in futuristic areas that would benefit both nations.

The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral relations, with an emphasis on trade and investment, energy, space, and cultural and people-to-people ties. Modi expressed gratitude to the Qatari leader for the welfare of the Indian community in Qatar.

In a series of tweets, Modi stated, “Had a wonderful meeting with HH Sheikh @TamimBinHamad. We reviewed the full range of India-Qatar relations and discussed ways to deepen cooperation across various sectors. Our nations also look forward to collaborating in futuristic sectors which will benefit our planet.”

The Qatari Emir hosted a ceremonial welcome for Modi in Doha, underscoring the growing strength of India-Qatar ties. The visit comes shortly after the release of eight former Indian Navy personnel who were sentenced to death in Qatar.

The discussions between Modi and the Qatari Emir covered a wide range of topics, including regional and global issues. The leaders exchanged views on expanding bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, energy, finance, and technology.

India and Qatar share robust trade and energy ties, with Qatar being the largest supplier of LNG to India. The visit marks Modi’s second trip to Qatar and is a testament to the nations’ commitment to deepening collaboration across various domains.
