Kerala records 22,040 new COVID cases, and the TPR rises to 13.49 percent

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala recorded 22,040 new Covid cases on Thursday, according to a press release from the state health department. With 117 new deaths, the death toll reached 17,328. The test positivity rate increased to 13.49 percent, causing panic.

Of the new cases, 20,901 were infected through contact, 67 were from outside the state, and 76 were healthcare workers.

In the last 24 hours, 1,63,376 samples were tested.

So far, 2,80,75,527 samples have been tested.

The state’s test positivity rate (TPR) is 13.49.

The districts of Malappuram, Thrissur, and Kozhikode reported the most cases, with 3645, 2921, and 2406 cases, respectively.

On Thursday, 117 COVID deaths were also confirmed.

The state’s COVID death toll now stands at 17,328.

Currently, 4,81,157 people are being watched across the state.

There are 4,517,799 in home or institutional quarantine, and 29,358 are in hospitals.
