Kavya Madhavan, the actress accused of sexual assault, appears in court

Kochi: Actress Kavya Madhavan, the wife of popular actor Dileep, who is the ninth accused in the actress abduction case, appeared as a witness before the special court on Tuesday.
Kavya entered the courtroom quickly, accompanied by her counsel.
She appeared in court in May of this year, but her statement was not taken.
There are approximately 300 witnesses in the case, with statements taken from over 170 people, and the special court has now asked the Supreme Court for a six-month extension to complete the trial.

On February 17, 2017, the actress was kidnapped and assaulted in a moving car in Kochi.
Dileep was arrested in connection with the case in July 2017 and spent several weeks in jail before being released on bail.
Dileep has been charged with “revenge crime” after being named as a conspirator in the case.
