Shah Rukh Khan Receives Enhanced Security Amidst Threats Post ‘Pathaan’ Controversy

The Maharashtra government has taken proactive measures to safeguard Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan following undisclosed threats received by the actor. Mumbai police have officially confirmed the implementation of heightened security measures, elevating Khan’s protection to Y+ security status. This decision came after a comprehensive threat assessment conducted by a dedicated committee, emphasizing the importance of ensuring the actor’s safety.

The controversy surrounding Khan’s film ‘Pathaan,’ specifically focusing on the song ‘Besharam Rang’ and certain outfits worn by Deepika Padukone, triggered objections from certain Hindu right-wing groups. To address potential security risks arising from these tensions, the decision to upgrade Khan’s security was made during a recent high-level meeting.

Under the Y+ security category, Shah Rukh Khan will be accompanied by a team of 11 security personnel, including six highly-trained commandos, four police officers, and a dedicated traffic clearance vehicle. These security personnel will be stationed at Khan’s residence, Mannat, ensuring constant vigilance and protection for the acclaimed actor.

It is noteworthy that Shah Rukh Khan’s recent cinematic ventures, including ‘Jawan’ and ‘Pathan,’ have enjoyed significant success at the box office despite the challenges faced, showcasing the unwavering support of his fans and the enduring appeal of his work in the entertainment industry.
