62-year-old woman gets a spectacular makeover, and the pics become popular on social media.

Sreelatha Sreechithira, a well-known make-up artist, had no idea the makeover photos of 62-year-old Padmini would become so famous when she uploaded them on her social media profile. Her email is now inundated with congratulatory messages as well as inquiries. Most people are in awe of Padmini’s incredible transformation.

During the lockdown, Sreelatha says she didn’t have many customers. So, rather than doing nothing, she decided to do something creative and interesting. When Sreelatha asked her neighbour Padmini if she could be her model, the latter nodded enthusiastically.

“When applying makeup to mature skin, you must exercise caution. Only then will you be able to achieve the ideal natural look. Padmini’s eye makeup was lighter than the standard “bridal look.” Because her skin is wrinkled, applying makeup took longer than usual. Even if the makeup was slightly overdone, these features would be projected. “I had this in mind when I was doing her makeup,” Sreelatha explains.

Padmini wore her own wedding saree, which was made more than three and a half decades ago. Sreelatha’s daughter had also assisted with the makeover. When messages began to flood her social media accounts, congratulating her on doing something unique like this, the makeup artist realised her work had become a huge success.

Sreelatha owns and runs Sree Chithira, a makeover studio in Attingal, Thiruvananthapuram. Meanwhile, Padmini, a former secretariat employee, is enjoying her retirement.
