“Unemployment and Rising Prices Behind Parliament Security Breach,” Says Rahul Gandhi

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi attributed the recent security breach in the Indian Parliament on December 13 to unemployment and rising prices. Speaking after an election strategy meeting with party leaders in Gujarat, Gandhi asserted that the breach was an expression of anger simmering among the youth, particularly those who are unable to secure jobs due to the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The BJP countered Gandhi’s statement, dismissing it as “trash” and highlighting that unemployment in India is at 3.2%, the lowest in six years. The security breach, which occurred during Zero Hour, involved two individuals jumping into the Lok Sabha chamber, releasing yellow smoke, and shouting slogans before being subdued by MPs.

The incident has become a matter of concern, with Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge demanding a statement from the Union Home Minister in Parliament. However, he criticized the Home Minister for not providing a statement inside Parliament and accused him of avoiding accountability. The security breach raises questions about the safety and protocols in place in the parliamentary complex, and the political discourse surrounding the incident reflects the ongoing challenges and debates related to unemployment and governance in India.
