Coimbatore Resident Natarajan Wins Onam Bumper Lottery

Natarajan, a resident of Annur in Coimbatore, has clinched the coveted title of this year’s Onam bumper lottery winner. His winning ticket bears the number TE230662, and he purchased a total of ten tickets. The first prize-winning ticket was sold by Sheeja S, an agent affiliated with Bava Agency located in Palayam, Kozhikode.

Furthermore, tickets with the following numbers: TH305041, TL894358, TC708749, TA781521, TD166207, TB398415, TB127095, TC320948, TB515087, TJ410906, TC946082, TE421674, TC287627, TE220042, TC151097, TG381795, TH314711, TG496751, and TB617215, have secured the second prize.

This year’s lottery sales witnessed a remarkable surge in demand, with a total of 85 lakh tickets printed and 75 lakh tickets sold. Due to the high demand, agents were permitted to purchase tickets from the lottery office until 10 a.m. today, in contrast to last year when ticket distribution ceased on the day of the draw. Notably, 67.5 lakh tickets were sold in the previous year, and each ticket was priced at Rs 500.

The boost in ticket prices, coupled with the recent monsoon bumper victory by members of the Haritha Karma Sena (HKS) who collectively purchased a ticket, contributed to the widespread trend of joint ticket purchases. Those participating in this manner will establish a shared account to receive the prize money. Alternatively, they can opt to entrust the distribution of the prize funds to the lottery department, providing written instructions on how the winnings should be divided, and the money will then be deposited into individual accounts accordingly. It’s worth noting that the Thiruvonam bumper lottery of 2019, with a prize of 12 crores, was also designed for jointly purchased tickets.
